1. Who uses name tapes?
Name tapes are commonly used to identify school uniform and clothing for those in residential care as well as children going to camp. The uses are endless, having clothing named (for adults or children) makes it easy to identify what belongs to who.

2. Are name tapes required for schools who do not have a school uniform?
Any clothing or property taken to school can easily be lost. If you don't want to risk losing your child's clothing and property, apply a Kwik Tape.

 

 
3. What is the material made of, it looks like paper?
The material is a woven, porous, "nylon-like" material. When printed the ink is thermally introduced into the material, a similar process to tattooing human skin. Like a tattoo the ink will not fade or wash off. It has amazing properties and is almost indestructible.

4. What is the difference between Iron-On and Peel-n-Stick?
Both are made of the same durable material but have different adhesive backings. Iron-On has an adhesive backing which melts with the heat of an iron and bonds to material, making it suitable for applying to any clothing.
Peel-n-Stick has a sticky backing and can be applied to any property which does not go through the washing machine.

 

 
5.Does the Iron-On stay on?
Yes, when applied according to the instructions, the tape will be bonded to the fabric. We supply hundreds of businesses in numerous countries with our material and it is probably the best iron-on material in the world.

6. How is the Iron-On applied and can it be washed?
Detailed instructions are applied on the backing paper, see Application Instructions. Iron-On labels can be washed and have been tested to BS5742 wash care tests.

 

 
7. What colour is the material?
All labels; Iron-On, Peel-n-Stick and Funky Feet are available in white.  Peel-n-Stick are also available in lime green, yellow and red.

8. How many name tapes should I buy?
Consider the age of the child you are ordering for. The younger the child the more name tapes you require. Boarding schools, school camps and holiday camps as well as residential homes usually require EVERYTHING to be named. Almost all schools have a problem with lost unidentified property, naming your property will help it to be returned to you.

Do remember that Kwik Tapes are user-friendly and applied in seconds so are used more readily than sew on name tags would be. Gone are the days when sewing in name tapes is a task which lasts for days.

 

 
9. Can Iron-On be used for boarding schools?
Many School Matrons adore Kwik Tapes and several boarding schools have purchased a name tape printer to provide their school with our Iron-On tapes. Kwik Tapes can be applied to almost all fabrics and are therefore ideal for all clothing be it for boarding school or day schools.

10. How many letters can be on each tape?
We recommend a maximum of 20 letters per row. More letters will result in small print. For long names with over 20 letters use a two row tape with row 1 for first name and row 2 for family name.

 

 
11. Should I have a Telephone number on the tape?
Telephone numbers make returning lost items easier. If a telephone number is applied a mobile number is often preferred to a home number.
